Colin Farrell’s Life and Work

Colin James Farrell, who is known for his roles in Hollywood action films including Phone Booth, Minority Report, Miami Vice, Daredevil, and S.W.A.T., was born on the 31st of May 1976 in Ireland.

He was born prematurely in a small suburban residential community in west Dublin, a town named Castleknock. He only weighed one pound and six ounces when his mother Rita Farrell, delivered him. His father is named Eamon and Colin has three other siblings, Claudine, Catherine, and Eamon, Jr.

Colin Farrell attended high school in his hometown Castleknock, more particularly at St. Brigid’s National School. He then continued to study college at both Gormanston College and Castleknock College.

Colin FarrellHe followed his father’s footsteps of being a football player as he played for Team Dublin. Colin used to be an aspiring football player playing as a goalkeeper in from 1980s to early 1990s. But he eventually enrolled at The Gaiety School of Acting.

Shortly thereafter, he dropped out of school, to become one of the casts of BBC’s television drama, Ballykissangel. He played the role of Danny Byrne. He stayed on the TV show for one year, from 1998 to 1999.

Colin Farrell fell in love on Amelia Warner, an English actress. They married in July 2001 but divorced after only four months of marriage. Colin then had a son named James with Kim Bordenave, an American model. His son was born on September 12th, 2003, which is also the same year when Colin and Kim went different ways.

Colin Farrell had an addiction to painkillers and recreational drugs. In December of 2005, he decided to voluntarily visit a rehabilitation treatment center to free himself of his addictions. According to his publicist, Colin’s drug addiction started when he had a back injury. He started taking painkillers for it and didn’t get off them after his rehabilitation.

Colin Farrell is a certified Hollywood hunk. Since his major film debut, he was given main roles in big films like “Phonebooth” and “S.W.A.T.” Colin is expected to be seen in more exciting films in years to come, including In Bruges, Pride and Glory, and Dirt Music.
